Experience: My scientific activity and interests mainly concern the diversity and ecology of freshwater macroinvertebrates. My experience over more than 15 years spans from sampling to taxonomy of macrobenthos in lake and river environments. I am an expert in taxonomic identification and skilled in the preparation of microscope slides, the use of microscopes, stereomicroscopes and biometric analyzes (in particular of Diptera Chironomids). I am experienced also in the application and conception of ecological indices according to the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC). Recently, I am enthusiast to apply both traditional taxonomic approach together with advanced molecular techniques. I am skilled in extraction, amplification of the DNA of lake macroinvertebrates via PCR, and subsequent data processing. I am also involved in sampling, morphometric data acquisition, data analyses and experiments on invasive crayfish species in the Northwestern Italy.
