Broad research topics: Mycology, Microbial ecology, biodegradation and ecotoxicity.

Research interests: My research interests include mycology, from taxonomic to functional diversity of microfungi: their role in decomposition, in plant symbiosis, in plant pathogenesis and bioremediation.
I have also experience in the biodegradation field, with research focused on the study of degradation of natural and artificial polymers and organic compounds by microorganisms and their enzymes in different environments, and in ecotoxicity studies.
I’m interested in deepening my knowledge of fungal taxonomy, functional diversity and physiology.

Projects: at MEG, I work as post-doc on the FUNACTION and MoSTFun projects, studying the aquatic fungal biodiversity and functioning throughout classical and molecular approach, in order to develop standardized biomonitoring programs and conservation strategies for this category of microorganisms.
